EMDR Therapy

You don't have to keep reliving what happened in order to heal from it

Some experiences leave an imprint that doesn't simply disappear with time.

You may find yourself reacting in ways that don't make sense, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, staying constantly on guard, or repeating patterns you desperately want to change. Even when you understand why you feel the way you do, your body and nervous system may still respond as though the past is happening in the present.

EMDR Therapy can help your mind and body process those experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional weight.

What is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach designed to help the brain process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences.

When overwhelming experiences remain unprocessed, they can become "stuck" in the nervous system, influencing how you think, feel, and respond to the world around you.

EMDR helps your brain reprocess these memories so they become integrated rather than overwhelming. While you may still remember what happened, the emotional intensity often decreases, allowing you to move forward with greater freedom, clarity, and peace.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR doesn't require you to repeatedly tell your story in detail. Instead, we work together in a way that supports your brain's natural ability to heal.

EMDR may be helpful if you're experiencing...

  • Childhood trauma or emotional neglect
  • Difficult family relationships
  • Anxiety or chronic worry
  • Panic attacks
  • High-functioning anxiety
  • Perfectionism and over-functioning
  • People-pleasing or chronic self-abandonment
  • Low self-worth
  • Grief and loss
  • Distressing memories that continue to affect your daily life
  • Trauma related to relationships, abuse, or life transitions
  • Many of the women I work with have spent years surviving experiences that taught them to disconnect from themselves in order to stay safe.
  • EMDR can help create space for something different.

Healing Beyond Survival

As an identity-centered, holistic therapist, I don't believe healing is simply about reducing symptoms.

It's about helping you reconnect with yourself.

The woman beneath the expectations.

The woman beneath the survival strategies.

The woman whose voice, intuition, and authenticity may have been buried beneath years of carrying too much.

EMDR is one of the many tools I use to support that process of returning home to yourself.

What to Expect

  • Every EMDR journey begins with building a strong foundation.
  • Before we process difficult memories, we'll spend time getting to know one another, understanding your story, strengthening coping resources, and helping your nervous system feel supported.
  • Healing isn't about rushing.
  • It's about creating enough safety for your mind and body to process experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
  • Throughout the process, you'll never be expected to move faster than your nervous system is ready to go.
  • Our work is collaborative, compassionate, and always centered on your needs.

Is EMDR Right for Me?

EMDR may be a good fit if you feel like you've gained insight into your patterns but still notice your body reacting as though the past is happening now.

Perhaps you understand why you people-please, over-function, avoid conflict, or struggle to trust yourself—but insight alone hasn't created lasting change.

EMDR helps bridge the gap between understanding your experiences and truly healing from them.

Begin Your Healing Journey

Healing isn't about erasing your past.

It's about freeing yourself from the ways it continues to shape your present.

If you're ready to reconnect with yourself, release what no longer serves you, and move toward a life rooted in authenticity, self-trust, and emotional freedom, we'd be honored to support you.
